Youngstown, OH Bolt Construction has announced the grand opening of its new Blast & Paint shop. A general contractor specializing in pipe fabrication and plant construction, the company purchased its Titan blast room and GFS paint booth in late 2023.
Bolt’s objective was to streamline internal operations and efficiencies to help the company maintain a competitive edge in the fabrication and piping industries. In fact, the company designed its new building specifically to house the blast room and paint booth – plus an additional paint booth at a later date.
Since Bolt Construction is using steel grit abrasive media, the blast room incorporates a mechanical media reclaim system with a 16’ cross auger and a bucket elevator.
Installation was pretty straight-forward until we hit the roof penetrations for the paint booth, which the building contractor handled for warranty reasons. The paint booth had been designed slightly skewed to optimize the flow of parts from the blast room to the paint booth.
The roof penetrations required some on-the-spot modification, but no biggie! Our installation team regularly deals with small issues like this – and once the modifications were made, installation proceeded smoothly.
The paint booth is the same size as the blast room and includes a heated air makeup unit for paint curing.
Bolt Construction celebrated the grand opening of their Blast & Paint Shop on October 23, 2024. The entire Titan Abrasive team congratulates Bolt on their vision and achievement. We’re also proud to be part of the Grand Opening celebration.
